I had unprotected sex last night and I think I was ovulating. I’m really worried that I could get pregnant. Is there anything that I can take, just to be safe? Or do I need to see a doctor?

Plan B One-Step is an emergency contraceptive that can reduce the possibility of pregnancy following unprotected sex. The pill is most effective if taken immediately or within 3 days after unprotected sexual intercourse. This product is available for women 15 years of age and older without a prescription. However, emergency contraception does not protect against STDs so you should still see your doctor and be examined. To prevent unwanted pregnancy and STDs, talk to your doctor about birth control methods and how to practice safe sex.
