This could not be further from the truth.

 

What is Marijuana?

Marijuana is a green-gray colored hemp plant that contains a chemical compound known as THC. This compound tricks the brain so that the user experiences a “high” and other effects.

Marijuana is a drug and is addictive. While the smell of marijuana is prevalent at baseball games, college campuses, and even on the streets, recreational marijuana is still illegal in most states.

 

Dangers of Marijuana

Smoking marijuana impairs your thinking and coordination which puts you and others around you in danger. Other dangers of marijuana include:

  • Impaired memory
  • Possibility of lowered IQ
  • Higher risk of mental illness
  • Heart problems, respiratory problems
